All go over both courses as we are now starting to carry out more cutting each week
Last week we held the Battle trophy over the Craighead course, so are main focus was making sure all surfaces had additional cutting and extra course prep for this competition, great to see this back at Crail with 2 years missed due to Covid
Tees being cut each day of play
Holes being changed each day of play
Greens, cut & rolled & surrounds cut
We have now started our monthly spiking of greens to 25mm and spraying wetting agent/seaweed to help open up the surfaces slightly to allow better air & water movement without interfering with play
Our short game area green being spiked, overseeded then heavy top-dressed to allow recovery from all the winter play same with our winter tees
We have replaced the bell and post and bin with more of a fitting style with the use of Railway sleepers on our 16th tees on the Craighead course
Flags and cups replaced for the start of the new golfing season over both courses
We have now changed our tee markers to green for the front tees instead of red/blue going forward and the tee plaques will be replaced next season
The area on the driving range that we seed out each year for a food source for the Corn buntings and bees etc has been completed and reseeded
Once we get slightly more heat we will look at reducing our cutting heights on the greens from 5mm to 4.5mm to help smooth the surfaces out with the grasses starting to grow at different levels
A small winter job was to enlarge one of the 10th greenside bunkers on the Craighead course, replace the sand and check the drainage etc for the season
Greens being sprayed with wetting agent/seaweed then watered in before play
