Out again with the members favourite machine topping roughs on the Craighead course
the tar-macing has been completed for the entrance to the Balcomie 1st tee, it's just the surrounding areas need to be shaped and turfed etc to complete this job
This week seen the main car park being re surfaced
Once the staff had finished turfing tee 17 they completed turfing tee 9 as well this week
The 4th new path is slowly coming on and hopefully will be completed next week
Our new flags for both courses arrived this week ready for the new season
With having frosts in the morning it was ideal to give the shed a good clean out. other jobs this week was daily course set up, mostly putting pins on winter greens each morning etc

We have managed to finish off levelling the 17th tee and made a start to turfing but the last couple of days has been frosty so we can't lift or lay the turf, so its been back to gorse maintenance around the car parks etc
the new fencing at 17th has been completed
We are tarmacing the entrance to the 1st tee of the Balcomie course when the main car park gets done next week, so we have been getting the area ready

Tee construction and levelling coming on well at the 9th on the Balcomie course
17th medal tee on the Balcomie course has been extended and levelled to give us much more teeing ground plus cutting back all the over grown gorse in front to give us a view of the fairway etc
I'm hoping to have both tees ready for turfing by the end of the week as these tees should of been completed and turfed by mid January! but the weather has held us up
The guys have been out extending the 14th tee path fence plus putting in a new fence at the 17th tee path

Great to have some nice dry weather for a change. This week the Craighead course is on it's mid week closure, so the main job was to get back to the drainage at 9 & 18 which consists of putting a 4" perforated pipe through the low laying area and connect to the main drain that we put in last year, this will allow all the gravel banding to connect and have an outfall
Other tasks this week is to carry out course set up each morning on the Balcomie course and edge/weed the Craighead bunkers for the start of the season plus make a start to topping them up with fresh sand

At last a break in the weather, so it was full steam ahead to try and finish jobs that are still open on the Craighead course as it is on its mid week closure for maintenance
2nd rear green side bunker on the Craighead course re build complete, just sand to put in
Out cutting the drier fairways on the Craighead course, what a difference a cut makes
The guys back at the job at the old 11th wall on the Craighead course, another couple of days will see this completed weather permitting
