We have been out giving the Balcomie course tees a spray of liquid fert and iron for going into the Autumn
The smaller medal tees on the Balcomie course get cut by hand mower now to help reduce tyre wear etc which has worked well
All the bunkers on the Craighead course were cut, cleaned, raked and shaped
The guys setting up the Balcomie course for play - holes changed, greens cut and turf ironed
Before the golfers appear we try to keep up with the appearance of the car park/Clubhouse areas by cleaning and blowing all lose debris etc

Yesterday was the finals day for all the section club championships, so today was the start of carrying out our aeration programs, once both the courses are set up for their daily play we will start to hollow core, clean up & cut the surrounds on the Craighead course in the afternoons this is to allow better air movement, reduce thatch levels, better surface drainage and improve the playing surfaces this work will continue till they are all completed then we will move on to the teeing grounds still on the Craighead course

Getting the Balcomie course set up for the Medal on Saturday morning
The guys are back on verti-cutting and cutting tees this afternoon as it's dried up, this operation is best done in dry conditions to maximise the amount of thatch etc you take out plus a lot cleaner finish
This is the 2nd light scarify to the Balcomie course fairways this year starting today to help cut out any long ends etc
