White frost Tuesday morning so we put pins on winter greens but with all the rain and thaw last week we had to syringe all the water out the winter cups
Our next winter project, rebuilding the 5th bunker and installing drains
No wonder it's not a good drainer with this clay under the sand
All clay dug out and new drainage pipe put in across bunker and is tapped into existing drain so hopefully problem solved
Other jobs were to cut greens, change holes set tee markers up, rake all bunkers as we had our Wednesday medal on, fill in the pot holes in road to shed then work at 5th bunker, this week we have a skeleton staff in as staff are down at Harrogate to the BTME exhibition

The out fall which is for the drains on our 5th green which we tapped into just outside the man hole for our new drains
After turfing we broomed the area to clean up any debris then rolled area, other jobs today were to rake all bunkers, move tee markers, put hole 5 back into play and G.U.R the drainage area, divot par 3 tees, empty tee bins. The course is still very wet with the rain this week so we never cut or rolled greens

Ground solid after another night of low temperatures, so we closed the full course until 10.30am and opened the back 9 only on winter greens once the ice had thawed, jobs today were to carry on with the drainage project at hole 5 and cutting gorse on hole 17, hopefully tomorrow we can start levelling the drainage lines and then turf if turf and soil has thawed out by then.
