Another late finish

Watering in the top-dressing, we managed to complete the aeration program today which was scarify greens twice, verti-cut, cut, over seed, top-dress, vibrate roll and water in we used 1.5 tonnes of 80/20 top-dressing per hole for the greens and aprons and 10 tonnes of Lv20 sand for top-dressing the tees
Vibrate rolling after the rubbing in to help work in the top-dressing even more into the sward

Rubbing in top-dressing on the 10th green

The greens were done in 2 directions with these scarifying units

We have a few areas on holes 8, 15 & 17 that have rabbit droppings which leaves lush patches so we topped them with the flymo

Hollow coring the 8th green
5/8" tines used, this is a trail on green 8 only to see how long the recovery is at this time of year, all the other greens are getting double scarified at a depth of 4mm, verti-cut then over seeded then top-dressed

The amount of clippings taken out from the scarifying and verti-cutting from 2 greens

over seeding the 18th green

As we are top-dressing greens it made sense to top-dress all tees and aprons for these operations we have been allowed to close the course so not to be disturbed by golf which makes a big difference so hopefully tomorrow we will have completed all the aeration work weather pending we are behind schedule after this mornings rain

Today we were out cutting banks and entrance to 1st tee etc with rotary, we never cut greens today as it was very windy, painted more tee pots, collected the balls off the driving range cut the driving range, set up the junior course, trimmed greens sprinkler heads and seeded and top-dressed the practice putting green again
We replaced the sprinkler head on the yellow tee at hole 11 looks like the verti-drainer made this damage

These tee pots get used as one side of the tee markers which you put your broken tees in, we bought them from Ikea very cheap as we have to replace them a lot as they get damaged by balls

Today we raked all the bunkers and fixed water damage that we could, moved the tee markers, changed the holes and put the par 3 tee markers back on summer tees then opened the course also picked up litter, then all staff over on the Balcomie course to help start the clean up which was the tractor with front loader moving most of the sand and seaweed then the rest of the staff cleaning up with snow shovels behind then we used the pedestrian blower for the final clean up
We have had to put up signs at our paths over Danes dyke at holes 15 & 16 to stop all golf buggies using them for health & safety reasons

7th green side bunker on Craighead course you can see the tide mark left from the flooding yesterday

All the bunkers had the same damage and we still have 18 bunkers flooded, but most of the flooding on the other parts of the course is away now
