We are cutting down and collecting all our rough this winter to help thin it out

We fertilised the greens straight after rubbing in of the top-dressing with a slow release (0.0.37) at 15gm2, this will let us put the water on tonight to wash in top-dressing and fert

We decided to use a golf buggy as it was very light weight for rubbing in top-dressing

Here's Andy top-dressing greens after being spiked it's a very light dressing

This week we spiked our greens with a 6mm solid tine to a depth of 1"

We have placed all our par 3 tees on mats for the winter to allow the tees to recover ready for the next season, these tees will be top-dressed and feed hopefully next week

We have reduced our cutting of the greens to twice a week now but will roll the greens in between cuts to keep a smooth surface

week commencing 12th October

We have had to apply a little water this week because of the high winds drying out the surface and also to wash in the fertiliser
Here's Rab and Tony applying (4.0.10) autumn feed to the greens, this should help harden up the greens going into the winter months

The greens have been hand cut twice this week to keep them smooth and true and the first cut after the fertiliser will be with grass boxes off
