This week we have been out doing the usual daily cutting plus we cut all our bunker faces, slit tined our greens and applied a selective herbicide to areas round the gorse plantation's

We solid tined our weak 14th surround then over seeded, top-dressed and watered in, we will top-dress it again tomorrow then give the area a light feed
8mm solid tine used to a depth of 2"and 1.5" spacing

The weather was perfect for our tasks today as we were verti-cutting greens, cutting greens behind then we verti-cut surrounds, cutting surrounds behind, cutting tees, moving tee markers, emptying tee bins, cutting 4" roughs and work on the 14th surround so it was great to get a dry cut for once, we took off 4 box empties from the verti-cutting per green

Today we spiked the greens with a solid 6mm tine to a depth 10mm, cut greens then sprayed greens with wetting agent behind cutter, finished off cutting semi-rough and raked all the bunkers and moved tee markers

Tuesday 1 June 2010

Today we have seeded the area that we lift turf from each year for winter work on the courses, the area was rotovated, harrowed, de-stoned last week ready for us to seed and this wet weather will help the new seed germinate
The area was seeded at a rate of 20gm2 with a fescue/ bent mix, all its left to do is for us to run over the area with our small harrow to level off any wheel marks and cover the seed, other jobs today are cutting greens, cutting semi-roughs and 4" roughs, trimming fairway yardage discs, then everyone on the driving range for collecting balls, cutting and setting up junior course for tonight
